Atlanta Motor Speedway
This panorama of Atlanta Motor Speedway was taken by James Blakeway and captures the Folds of Honor NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Situated on 870 acres located 20 miles south of Atlanta, this legendary racing surface welcomes NASCAR into the season in a 500-mile race. The 1.5-mile track hosted its first race on July 31st, 1960, the Dixie 200. Atlanta Motor Speedway was purchased by O. Bruton Smith in 1990 and saw an infusion of investment that led to expanded facilities and higher attendance. A tornado touched down in the track area in July 2005, causing extensive damage, but reopened four months later to host the October race.
A breathtaking look at Atlanta’s legendary racing paradise! As the cars roar around the back stretch, this spectacular poster shows race day at the Atlanta Motor Speedway from high above the north grandstand. Printed in brilliant color and perfect focus on high-quality paper stock, and complete with a sharp white border that includes the official track logo and a brief descriptive paragraph, this is both a beauty for the wall of home or office, and a great collector’s item for years to come! A must for any true Georgia-area sports fan!
