Wilson “1981 Negro League Players Reunion” ball signed in various inks by five former Negro League players, including four Hall of Famers. The signatures on the ball are those of Satchel Paige, Willie Mays (sweet spot), Cool Papa Bell, Monte Irvin, and “Lefty Beach Campbell.” Satchel Paige and Cool Papa Bell were the guests of honor at the third annual Negro League Players Reunion, held in Ashland, Kentucky, on June 28, 1981. Paige was in poor health at the time, but he decided to attend at the urging of his wife. It was a good decision on his part, because it was the last time he saw many of his former friends and teammates, as he died less than one year later. Comes with full letter JSA COA.
