Charlie Finley Single Signed Orange Major League Baseball With JSA COA

Thinking the game might be more fan-friendly if it was easier to follow the flight of the baseball, Oakland A’s owner Charlie Finley introduced the concept of an orange baseball. Although Commissioner Bowie Kuhn allowed the ball to be used in exhibition games and the fan response to the ball was mostly positive, the idea never gained traction as the players claimed the color made it difficult to pick up the spin of a pitched ball. Although some of these Official Charles O. Finley orange baseballs have survived and are occasionally offered for auction, this is one of the few we’ve seen with his signature across the sweet spot. This is a significant and extremely rare piece of baseball Americana that would enhance any great memorabilia collection.
